The revelation of the Quran in Arabic

And thus have We sent it down an Arabic Quran, and have distinctly set forth therein of threats that they may guard (against evil) or that it may produce a reminder for them. Taha [20:113] 

And thus have We revealed to you an Arabic Quran, that you may warn the mother city and those around it, and that you may give warning of the day of gathering together wherein is no doubt; a party shall be in the garden and (another) party in the burning fire. Ash-Shura [42:7] 

These verses are the words of Allah Almighty. The Quran is revealed in the Arabic language for the understanding purposes. In those times and still the Arabic is the most dynamic language of the world and it is but logical for the Sovereign to select Arabic as the language to reveal the Quran in.

 

 

Students of Iraq competing in the Quran Meanings Contest:

A Quranic Concepts Competition was organized in the Holy City of Najaf, Iraq this past Friday on 19^th November 2010. The huge number of students from Iraqi School participated in this event. According to the news reports the Quran Department of the Shahid Mehrab Institute organized this event.     

 

The Jury for this event present who evaluated the contestants where the top most Quranic Experts of the country. This Jury member included the well known names like Mahnad Alabedi and Vahid Alhalou. On the closing ceremony of this event the co-organizer Hazim Alhalou while addressing the participants said that I recommend that you all should make an effort to increase your knowledge about the Holy Book the Quran by participating in competitions like these. Hajj: Millions of Muslims to start Pilgrimage

Millions of Muslims started the holy prayer of Hajj this Sunday by entering the holy city of Mecca and to tent in the city of Mina. The amount of pilgrims estimated to perform this year’s Hajj is to raise over 2.5 million. This trip towards Mina by Pilgrims marks the annual session of Hajj.

Jamarat Bridge: 124 Electric Vehicles for the Elderly and Infirm

The ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs Saudi Arabia has allocated 124 electric vehicles to perform their services at the Jamarat Bridge. These electric vehicles would be providing free services to all the elderly and handicapped pilgrims who require special needs to enter the Jamarat Bridge.       

 

The specifications and the carriage capacity of each vehicle is that they can carry up to 14 pilgrims. These vehicles move around the Jamarat Bridge helping the pilgrims in throwing stones and returning them back to their camps. The availability of this facility during the prayer of Hajj has been appreciated by many Pilgrims as this facility is provided to perform the Hajj in true Islamic rituals and believes. Nat’l Quran contest winners of Iraq’s Announced

On 5^th November 2010 in a ceremony held in Kadhamayn the winners of the second Quran contest of Iraq were announced. According to the director of Dao l Kareem Raa’d A Adnan the competition was held for three major categories which were as

1.      The entire memorization of the Holy Quran

2.      Memorization of 20 Juzes of the Holy Quran

3.      And the Recitation of the Holy Quran

 

 According to resources around 128 Quran memorizers and reciters took part in this national event. Out of these 128 participants Hamza As Sabah from Basrah, Ali Adnan Abdur Razaq from Baghdad and Kuja Umar Ali from Sulaymania were the ones who were awarded first prizes in the three categories respectively. Open Heart being offered for Interfaith Health Fair

A free medical screening session was provided to 120 people by the Jewish, Christian and Muslim professionals including 20 medical students and 30 doctors along with a dozen nurses. Dr. Muzammil the coordinator of the event said that we are trying to find new ways to find things for serving the people on common grounds. This interfaith health fair was organized by a joint collaboration between the council of Islamic Organization and the Jewish community for relation council.    

 

The organizer and the executive director of the council Mr. Robert Cohen said that in turn to the response of the audience towards this health fair we would be looking to repeat and keep conducting health fair like these in future and on higher levels. Attack on Church in Baghdad Condemned by Ayatollah Sistani

The most prominent and the senior religious figure of Iraq Ayatollah Seyed Ali Sistani condemned the attacks on the church located in the centre of Iraq’s capital Baghdad.  Ayatollah Sistani also called that the people of Iraq should be provided security. There should be security forces deployed in the country especially the capital Baghdad.

The Church of Sayidat-al-Nejat located at the center of Baghdad got raided by an unnamed gunman. This gunman held a dozen of people as a hostage and clashed with the security forces of Iraq killing at least 46 Christians and injuring 60 others. The responsibility of these attacks has been claimed by the Iraqi Islamic Government affiliated with Al Qaeda.
